#EF19 The Way You Look At Me

I never have a boyfriend before I got married. So the most memorable relationship for me is what I have with Mr. Wicak, the one who have become my husband for more than 3 years :D.

One of many things that I still remember is how he proposed me on January 2012. Mihihihi. *ini kyknya bakalan jadi curcol -__-“* He with his family went from Bandung to Lampung and arrived in my home in the afternoon. I remember how our family made a long enough conversation about us and how he stole a glance to me who sat in a “separated” room. It was not totally separated, there was a door without it’s leaf between those room, hehe. Maybe he just made sure that my face didn’t change to a monster or so :v or to make sure the house he entered was right :p. From this sentence you knew that I also stole a glance because I also had to make sure that man was same with the one who told me would propose me :p *bahasanya ribet ya bok*. After 1-2 hours, and my family accepted his proposal (alhamdulillah ya.. :p), then he and his family went home.

And the memorable moment I clearly remember is Continue reading

#EF18 Me And My Job

Complicated is a situation makes me a headache, difficult to decide what I want, and sometimes drive me to do nothing but being lazy :D.

Like what I told you last week, I have a job as social worker. And I have a complicated relationship with it. I tell you that I love my carrier as social worker, much. Because I work here, I can go to some places that I never imagined before. by working here, I am forced to be more grateful because I always read poor people’s pofiles and sometimes I meet them in person when I have an empowering visit to slum area. What I see there, it slapped me right in my face,

“Ncuss, you are lucky! You are blessed because you have a husband, a motorcycle to ride, a smartphone, DSLR, and beyond everything.. you are healthy and have a perfect body. How could you not be thankful for what you have?”
Yeah, I love what I am doing here. Continue reading

[EF #17] From Doctor, Nutritionist to Social Worker

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a doctor. It was greatly influenced by Susan & Ria Enes with their famous song at that time “Cita-citaku” :p. I know, It’s a very mainstream dream until now :p.

This dream made me love everything about science, biology to be exact, until I was at senior high school. I got the first rank in every daily test or every end of semester. Times passed,,, I read more books and got a lot of informations from seniors at my shool. Then, I was hypnotized by a title called “Nutritionist”. It was kinda cool, wasn’t it? Then I suddenly changed my mind XD

I took SPMB test after I’ve known that I graduated from high school. I didn’t prepare SPMB like my friend did. I just copied my friend’s preparation books and solved every questions in my home. Yes, I did it my self, without mentor nor teacher. At that time, I felt “nothing to lose” and have no burden whether I passed the test or not.

The D-Day came and I went to UNILA (University of Lampung) to take the test with my friends. I chose IPB as my number one choice and Biology in UNILA as my second one. I passed the test with smile in my face while I didn’t answer all questions because SPMB was not about how many you answer questions but it was, and it IS always about the strategy! I had to calculate how many questions that I answer correctly and I was absolutely sure about it. So, I counted on what I was expert on: Math, Biology, Bahasa. I just answer 4 question in Physics, and 10 questions in Chemistry =)). Continue reading

EF #15 Almost Drown

What game?

Wait… I have to think longer. Because… Pity me, I lost a lot of memories about my childhood time when I was in elementary school. It was a very long story and might be a terrified story so I’ll tell you in other post… if I remember, hehe :D

I had a lot of games when I was kid. Baseball, “benteng”, “engklek”, “enggrang”, marbles, hide and seek, “jelangkung” (?), “Qyu-Qyu” (?), and more… xixixi. But I think what was my favourite is all about our beloved river.

When I was 6-15 years old, I live in a house near a river. It was clean enough and used to be a site to laundry for most of people in my village. And as long I remember, I suddenly became a “member” of laundry gang. In the morning, we would have a small running competition to the river to get the best place to do our laundry. Hehe. It was not only done by girls, but also boys.

The reason why we did it because we wanted to take bath in the river after we got all our dirty clothes clean and perfumed. Haha. A small game we played is who clean up all their clothes first. The uniqueness is there is no reward for the winner. Whoever is the first, she/he would take a bath longer than anyone else. Hahahaha.

Another game we played in our beloved river was swimming with banana tree trunk. Not extreme enough? We played it when the river was in almost-flood-situation =)). What was the worse? I couldn’t swim well like my friends. And I can’t :v.

At that time, we would take the trunk to upstream and ride it until downstream. For they who couldn’t find a trunk, they would swim with us. We’d do it over and over again until our parents found us with their angry face. Some of us were also got beaten with a stick by their parents =)).

What I remember until now about this game is I almost drown when I swam. Lucky me, my friend catched me at the right time before I swept away. Fufufu.

It is always fun to recall what I did in that river. I also remember that one of my friend’s mother teached us to do “Ciblungan”. You know,,, ciblungan is playing music with water in river. With a certain motion with your hand, you can make a cheerfull music only with water. It was, and it is, very cool I think. :D. Unfortunately, our beloved river is in severe condition now and no longer a friendly playing place for kids. Huhuhu.

But kid nowadays aren’t interested in this kind of games tough. Fufufu. The most of them are addicted to online games and gadgets in their very early age. It causes them to move less and also less sociable to their peers. Although socialization is very important to build their personality for their future #eaaak. Anyway, this thing is just a phenomenon… I believe that there are a lot of kids who have a healthy life in both physical and mental like what we had in the past *brb recheck my own age :p*.

What we can do for the next generation is teach them how to enjoy their life without ignoring their surrounding environment :D

EF #14 My Obsession and A Pirate

foto nyari di google search dg keyword “sailor moon”

I am 25 years old now but I will confess to you that I love cartoon, anime, or whatever you call it. Almost addicted. Lucky me, I don’t have many access to comic rental right now and I am too stingy to buy comic. So I just read or watch it online. I prefer read it on mangahere.co :D. I read a lot of comics since I was in elementary school. Let’s say: Miko, Sinchan, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse and their friends, and I found comic in Indonesian magazines such as Nirmala & Oki in Bobo Magazine *CMIWW*. Yes, I love them.

I also watched many cartoon in TV such as Sailor Moon, Wedding Peach, Sakura Card Captor, and etc =)). Oh my God, when I write it, it reminds me about my childhood memories. It was so fun and more interesting than childhood nowadays.

Between so many cartoon characters, I will choose Usagi from Sailor Moon as my favourite for sure! Omg..omg.. I love her dress when she transform to sailor moon. I love her more when this anime will come to final episode because her dress become more and more beautiful :v. By writing this theme, I realize that I still have an obsession to be a princess #ngek. #EF 13 Running from the truth

When was the last time you exercise?
That’s one of big questions every week I have to answer in my weekly “halaqoh” =v. And sadly, I have to uncheck that kind of activity *my bad*.

Talking about sport, I have to be honest to my self and say “I never do any sport after I’ve climbed Mahameru in November 2014”.  The main reason is we’re too lazy to move our body. Even though, i sometimes persuade my husband to exercise… but when he refuses because of certain reason, i couldn’t force him. And, i end up not doing anything :p.
Somehow, I do have a favourite sport :D. It’s …. *drum rolls* …. Running from the truth. LoL.

run..run..run.. (photo by me)

This is why I love running: Simple.

  1. You just have to run. You don’t have to do dribble a ball, slide a ball from member of your opposite team, etc.
  2. There is no complex rules. Just run, dude…!
  3. There is no certain gear you have to wear when you run. You can do barefoot running, wear your expensive shoes, or like I do: wear my mountain sandals (is it a right word to say “sandal gunung”? :D)
  4. You also can wear you long skirt when you run. Yey!
  5. The only preparation you must do is warming up. Haha.
